Logistics architecture is becoming increasingly important, especially in peripheral areas of our cities and metropolitan regions, and is immensely important for the sustainable development of urban infrastructure. Why is this so important? Our shopping habits, the number of online orders, and the associated increase in freight traffic in peri-urban areas is growing exponentially. “Here, architecture must develop solutions and intelligent interfaces for cities to create the most sustainable concept of the last mile. In other words, that last stage of the delivery of goods that ends at the end consumer. https:\/\/asselmeyerarchitekt.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Factors of logistics architecture: location & flexibility – efficiency & technology – people & sustainability<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Architecture for industry and commerce usually has a long useful life and should therefore be planned sustainably and flexibly in order to be adaptable to future changes and also to ensure efficient subsequent use. “The location of logistics buildings is usually carefully chosen to ensure good access to transportation infrastructures such as highways, railroads and ports. This reduces transport times and costs and, in addition to increasing the efficiency of the supply chain, also improves the CO2 balance. We therefore always plan logistics buildings with environmental aspects and energy efficiency in mind. By using environmentally friendly building materials, energy-efficient lighting and heating systems, and renewable energy, they help reduce the environmental footprint,” Asselmeyer said.<\/p>\n

Fast delivery – but please with a sustainable claim<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The expert explains: “Logistics architecture, as we understand it, must also be expressed in its external appearance. However, it is not always just about a certain design or a corporate identity emblazoned in gaudy corporate colors from an otherwise shockingly banal facade, but and above all also about an entrepreneurial and moral attitude to the topics of “precise planning and timing”, “high economic efficiency” and ultimately about the sustainable, overall responsible approach to the conception, planning, construction and use under all criteria (ESG, DGNB, etc.) of logistics and a logistics building. All this can be mapped in the architecture of companies. That’s what we mean by identity architecture.”<\/p>\n
